Due to industry regulations, all websites must have viewable privacy and a refund policies. We have created sample policies for you to use, or you may write your own.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how you will utilize of your customer’s information.

Sample Privacy Policy

This policy covers how we use your personal information. We take your privacy seriously and will take all measures to protect your personal information.

Any personal information received will only be used to fill your order. We will not sell or redistribute your information to anyone.

Refund Policy

This policy explains how you handle returns, refunds, and exchanges. Please display this policy on either the product page or the checkout page of your website. 2Checkout.com makes every effort to refer refund requests to you, the seller, but reserves the right to issue a refund if necessary.

Though “No Refund” Policies are generally permitted, 2Checkout.com strongly recommends against this business practice because it often leads to high customer chargebacks. Please note there are certain situations where 2Checkout.com cannot permit “No Refund” Policies. If this applies to you, 2Checkout.com will let you know.

Sample Refund Policy (for Goods)

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can either return your order for a full refund or exchange it for something else. You can return or exchange your purchase for up to 120 days from the purchase date. Returned or exchanged products must be in the condition you received them and in the original box and/or packaging.

Sample Refund Policy (for Services)

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, within 120 days from the purchase date, we will fully refund the cost of your order.

If you’re like me, you spend a good part of your day trying to figure out where your next customer is going to come from and how you can drum up new business. New customers are the lifeline of any business, new or old, and they are hard to earn. Here are a couple of the mainstays on the Internet to help you find some new customers.

Referrals – nothing is more powerful than when someone a person trusts recommends your business, there is an implied guarantee that the products or services are excellent because nobody wants to risk their reputation with colleagues or friends. How do you harness the power of referrals?

Affiliate networks – affiliate networks like Commission Junction, 2CO Global Affiliates, LinkShare and others enable providers of trusted content to direct potential buyers to your site. Affiliate marketers typically focus on a narrow niche of products or services or keywords and they run deep on that niche. They attract traffic with content or search terms and then redirect to other sites. Depending on the type of affiliate, they can be extremely powerful and cost effective sources of new customers.

Referring networks – slightly different from affiliates, you can leverage business partners to refer customers to you as well. Those partners tend to be suppliers of products or services that help you go to market. Referring networks can be particularly effective in a hard goods industry where the suppliers of products have multiple distributors.

Existing customers – the most powerful referral is an existing customer who is highly satisfied with your service (see Net Promoter Score). These advocates for your business can be very influential in getting new customers to come to your site and buy from you. Make sure that you have a reward system in place to compensate and thank customers for their advocacy.

Search Engine Optimization – SEO in, my mind, is one of the easiest and hardest things to do right on the Internet. Search engines like Google, Bing, Yandex, and Baidu don’t exactly tell you how their search algorithms work so you have to experiment with your site to gain relevant traffic. Here are a few things to look at in SEO:

Pay Per Click Marketing – simply put, these are ad words campaigns. If you have not put at least Google Analytics tags on your site, get on it. GA can help you understand where customers are coming from to get to your site. With a little research with Google tools, you can find out popular search terms and look for variations on those terms that you can bid on to place your ads in front of consumers. PPC campaigns are pay per click, not pay per purchase so control your budgets based on what you want to spend to acquire a customer.

Backlinking – fancy term for inbound links to your website. Search engines give your site more exposure if you play nice on the Internet. You should work to have inbound links from third parties to your site and also make sure you have a good number of outbound links as well, a ratio of 10:1 may work very well for you. Backlinks are important because it shows the search engines that other sites on the internet like your site as well and encourages higher scoring and higher visibility with your pages during organic search.

Content – remember those keywords you are working on for your PPC campaigns? Try lacing them into your web-site through relevant content. It’s true that you can create a list of keywords on your page and it will help your ranking but ranking is only part of the equation; the content associated with that keyword has to be enough to convince a customer to buy from your brand.

In the last couple of weeks, we sent out a survey asking you a couple of simple questions:

How satisfied are you with 2CO?

How likely are you to recommend 2CO to a friend?

These two questions form the basis of something called a Net Promoter Score.

Here’s how it works:

Promoters: Count the number of customers giving you a score of 9 or 10 on question 2. These are the customers who like the products and services you provide and are willing to recommend you to others. They are advocates for your business.

Detractors: Count the number of customers giving you a score of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 on question 2. These are the customers who are not advocates for your business and are unwilling to recommend you to others. You have some work to do here.

Do the math: Subtract the percentage of respondents who are detractors from the percentage of respondents who are promoters to get the net percentage of customers who are willing to support your brand.

Here is an example: 500 respondents, 250 responders give you a 9 or 10 on willingness to recommend your brand and 150 responders give you a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 on willingness to recommend your brand. Your NPS would be (250/500) – (150/500) = .50 – .30 = .20% What it means is that 20% of your customer base thinks so highly of you that they are willing to convince others to try your brand

What can NPS do for you? Net Promoter Score can give you an overall measure of how well you are serving your customer base and an expectation of future performance for your business. NPS figures vary by industry, Apple, for example, has a score of more than 80%, financial services companies average in the mid-teens. How did we do? You gave us a 29.8% – not too bad. But it means we have a way to go to be the “Apple of payments.” Thanks for your feedback, it really is very valuable to us as we work to improve products and services to help you grow your business.

Want to learn more about Net Promoter Scores? Check out the “official” Net Promoter Score site or contact us at marketing@2co.com

Give it a shot – you won’t regret it!
