If you want the coupon to apply to just the cart total and not to a specific product, do not check the Select All Products option when creating your coupon. I have created coupon for 40% discount and choose All Products. So I supposed that with this coupon number my customers will get 40% discount on order total. But when I entered coupon number I see that 40% discount is submitted only for one of products(with highest price) within order. Please help I think there is something wrong with coupons.

For example, whether a customer had 1 product totaling $50.00 or 3 products totaling $150.00, a percentage off coupon of 10% will reduce the cost of either by the same proportioned amount. The $50.00 sale will be reduced by $5.00, and the $150.00 sale will be reduced by $15.00 (ie. 3 products multiplied by $5.00 off each product).
