Haitian Relief

As you know, last month the nation of Haiti was devastated by a series of earthquakes. This has profoundly impacted the lives of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. In a effort to help the people who have lost everything, we immediately started collecting needed supplies to send to the relief effort.

We started working with an international organization and collected numerous items to assist the initial emergency needs of the Haitian people. These items will go to people who have lost nearly everything they own and to folks struggling to feed their families and keep their children clothed. A small sample of the items collected are:

First Aid Kits
Diapers
Baby Bottles
Bar Soap

2Checkout takes an active role in helping our employees support their favorite charities and non-profit organizations. We also actively support many local, national, and international groups through direct financial and volunteer contributions. This is in addition to our continual collections for non-perishable food and new/lightly used clothing that are donated to local shelters and other non-profit groups.

2009 Employee Charitable Contributions

Every year 2Checkout makes a charitable donation to an organization on behalf of each employee. This allows us to individually support causes and organizations that we feel are important.

The list of organizations we supported last year is long one. Some of the more popular organizations chosen by our employees are:

We also had many donations to local and national animal rescue groups like the ASPCA, Capital Area Humane Society, and other local animal shelters. Various school and after-school youth programs and sports teams also received some much needed assistance this past year.

These contributions are in addition to the various food and clothing drives we participated in, personal volunteerism, and participation in events to raise awareness and money for various causes. We will continue our support of a variety of causes and organizations, both as a company and as individuals.
