Checkout!, Acquista!, Verificar!, Auschecken!, Fazer Pagamento!, Til Kassen!, Passer la Commande!
“Checkout” is no longer the only word we will be using at 2Checkout.com. Soon, “Acquista,” “Verificar,” and “Til Kassen,” will be three of fourteen new ways to checkout customers, as we put the final touches on our newest translated updates of the 2Checkout Single Page Purchase (SPP).
As part of 2Checkout’s Phase One translation plan, fourteen additional languages are being added to the checkout process and are now available for viewing on our beta server, as part of a larger planned overhaul to provide a more seamless and consistent customer-friendly experience. In addition to English, languages added in Phase One are Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Slovenian, European Spanish, Latin American Spanish, and Swedish.
We encourage you to review these new pages through the 2Checkout beta server (see links below) and provide us feedback on ease-of-use, flow, and translation accuracy. Once we are able to apply appropriate changes based upon your suggestions, we will go Live with the pages and make them available for integration. It is important to note that these pages are for viewing only and are in their initial beta phase, therefore, please do not point real sales to the beta server.
We look forward to your feedback! Additional versions are currently in the works including plans to launch multiple translations of the traditional checkout method pages by mid-summer 2008.
We are already aware that a few small bits of the page were missed in this initial set of translations, and have been added to the next set of translations we are commissioning:
- If a recurring product is selected, the recurrence pattern contains the word Week, Month, or Year
- Underneath the fields for name, the labels First, Middle, and Last
- The pop-up explaining Card Security Codes (CVV)
- When you hover on a language name in the header, the sentences “View page in language”
- In the State/Provence drop down, the phrase “Outside US & Canada”
We especially want feedback on anything that has been translated incorrectly, anything else which is missing, and any opinions on whether the rest of the entries in the State/Provence dropdown need to be translated.
You can use the following links to see each translation
- Danish
- Greek
- European Spanish
- Latin Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Norwegian
- Dutch
- Portuguese
- Slovenian
- Swedish
- Traditional Chinese
- English
Because this is not the production server, changing out the sid & product_id parameters for your own may not work as expected.

In Portuguese everything looks great but your forgot 3 words (below the textboxes in the name of the client):
First = Nome
Middle = Nome do Meio
Last = Apelido
In fact in the Format it looks good… i don’t understand why you missed those 3 words…
Thanks,
Rui

pss7 - Thank you for your suggestions on the German “checkout” button, are there any other portions of the translation which you feel should have been translated differently?
seangel - Turkish is on our candidate list for a second set of languages to translate the purchase routines into.
rasilva - Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad to hear the transalation looks good, those fields are on our list of omissions (we didn’t want to assume that reusing the format string below was ok without getting confirmation from a native speaker).
Everyone, please keep the feedback coming! The more suggestions & feedback we get early on, the better these pages will be when we put them into production!

jorge -
I’ll take a guess and assume you’re asking about when translations for the Payment Request will be available. That email should be translated around the same time we translate the main multi-page purchase routine (mid-summer 2008).
Thanks!

RE. Danish translation
Firstly I will say that it is looking great and it is a great initiative. Thumbs up
I have looked the demo order pages through and I just have 3 comments:
“Faktureringsoplysninge” should be “Faktureringsoplysninger”
You need to put an “r” in the end.
There are two fields called “Land”. The first one - which is the US States could be called “Område” instead.
The text below “ZIP code/ Postnummer”. I assume it should be below the “State” field instead.
Please let me know if you have any further questions - I would be happy to help.
Best regards,
Jep Laponnel

Mr. Laponnel-
Thank you for your feedback, the missing “r” in “Faktureringsoplysninger” was a typo, and will be corrected, I have also sent your alternate translation for “State” off to our translators for evaluation & inclusion. The text below the postal code field is in its correct place, but does bring up some interesting usability concerns regarding which countries that information should be required from, which we will add to our list of development discussion points.
Thanks again!
Rachyl

French Translation seems fine except for the “Middle Name”. It corresponds to “2ème prénom”.
Great Job. I just can’t wait to try the new pages….
Thanks

One addition for the Warranty explanation for the french page:
- You should remove “Period” in the point 1).
- Also in 3). “2Checkout.com’s sera chargé d’éclaircir plus avant la situation avec votre aide.” could be replaced with “2Checkout.com se chargera de resoudre le problème avec votre aide”
-in 6)., it is better to replace “chiffre” by “crypte”
Thanks

Will the international SPP be available also for tangible goods.
Thanks

lacabessa-
Thanks for your great feedback on the french translations, I’ve forwarded it on to our translation team. We will be translating our regular purchase routine and putting it out for your review just as soon as the SPP translations are firmed up, rather than adding tangible handling to the SPP routine. Both translated routines are slated to be out for production use later this summer!
