2Checkout and our Fraud Prevention Department are pleased to announce an improvement made to our services today. Beginning earlier this afternoon vendors are now receiving the fraud review notifications at a quicker response rate then they were previously.
Prior to today, 2CO vendors were receiving review notifications within an hour or two of the order being placed. Now, vendors should see this response time reduced by at least half.
This feature enhancement should benefit those of you selling immediate downloads and services as your customers will experience fulfillment rate that has been improved from hour or more, to within the hour. Or even as quickly as within 20 to 30 minutes.
Quicker notifications should result in a quicker turn-around on order processing benefiting both you and your customers.

Hi Roxy! We do offer an automated postback to vendor via our Instant Notification System. We offer a “Fraud Status Changed” message that can post sale details to any script that you would like once it is reviewed.

I am concerned that this improvement might have an undesirable side-effect:
Previously, when it was taking 2CO a while to fraud-review a new order, we could cancel the order on the first day (e.g., if _we_ determined that the order was fraudulent, or if the customer didn’t like the product and requested a refund promptly) and we would not be charged any fees. Now we end up making those cancellations shortly _after_ 2CO’s fraud review. Are we charged fees on them now?.. I suspect that 2CO could be retaining its usual fees in those cases now, just like it does (and like it did before) for refunds made days later.
2CO – any comments? If my suspicion is correct, any plans for correcting that? Maybe don’t turn authorizations into actual transactions for one day even if 2CO’s fraud review passes, to let the vendor have a chance to do their own review and possibly cancel? Maybe make this a vendor-controllable setting?
In our specific case, we’re selling intangible products (downloads) with unconditional 7-day money-back. Thus, we were never waiting for 2CO’s fraud review to be completed before fulfilling orders – fulfillment would happen automatically right upon order submission. This also enabled the customer to request a refund quickly if they did not like the product – often before 2CO’s fraud review (when it was taking a day). This approach with no trial version download but unconditional money-back instead (somewhat different from shareware) results in a higher percentage of refunds (the customer actually has to tentatively make a purchase in order to see if the product is right for them or not), but we prefer to use it for a variety of reasons.

Although the fraud review time has been shortened, this didn’t affect the settlement time frame. This means that if an order is canceled on the same day it was placed, no 2Checkout fees would be charged to your account for the sale.
If an order is refunded after the funds for the order have deposited, 2Checkout fees are charged for the order as the transaction has settled.
To ensure that you aren’t charged 2Checkout fees for an order, you would need to cancel the order the same day the order was received.
