FREE 2CO Vendor Accounts - May 6, 2008 Only!

This coming Tuesday, May 6, 2Checkout will be deploying a new currency processing solution for Vendor Account Signups.

As an incentive for you to try it out, we will refund the signup fee for anyone who chooses to pay for their signup using a Visa or MasterCard and a currency other than US Dollars!

Please note, if your credit card is not based in the currency you select, your card issuing bank may credit you with a slightly different amount than you were originally charged due to fluctuating exchange rates or bank policy.

This incentive program will be run from 10am-10pm EST on Tuesday, May 6 and all currency signups placed within that timeframe will be refunded within the following 5 business days.

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who participated in this promotion! It was a huge success and we’re thrilled to have signed over 300 new vendors. Welcome to the 2CO Vendor Community!

This promotion is open to both new suppliers and existing suppliers who want to obtain an additional account. However, please note that supplier accounts cannot be joined together. All accounts must remain as separate accounts regardless of the account’s domain name or account owner.

Sounds good, will you tell the way refund would be issued. Would they return directly to the card or would be funded to new vendor’s account?

Thanks!

That’s great! I have a few accounts with 2CheckOut and adding another one sure is an incentive. A question though - it says here:

As an incentive for you to try it out, we will refund the signup fee for anyone who chooses to pay for their signup using a Visa or MasterCard and a currency other than US Dollars!

What about US citizens? Since American citizens do business primarily in US Dollars itself, is this special still valid for them? Just wondering, because I have US friends who would definitely be interested in opening an account with 2CO.

Thanks!

We will provide separate URLs for each currency as an addition to this post rather than adding in currency flags during the signup process. You will select the currency link for the currency you wish to pay in.

Please note: If you are a US vendor, and you use one of these currency links, we wil refund the signup, but the purchase and refund amounts may not match exactly due to your bank’s handling of the currency amounts.

Great News!!!

But I have a question:

Does this offer apply to Verified by Visa Cards?

Cards that support Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code are accepted as long as signups are in a supported currency other than USD.

The currency you use when signing up does not effect the currency used by customers purchasing your products/services.

The promotion only applies to non-USD signups, but does not limit your ability to make USD sales with your account.

“Please note, if your credit card is not based in the currency you select, your card issuing bank may credit you with a slightly different amount than you were originally charged due to fluctuating exchange rates or bank policy.”

So, does it mean we still get the refund but the amount will slightly different? We only pay for the currency rate differences?

I just signed-up. Thanks for the free sign-up promotion. Btw, will I get the 3 digit security code in my credit card statement for the free sign-up (for validation purpose)?

From your website: “This 3 digit code can be found on your credit card statement. When you receive your credit card statement the three digit code can be found in the “Soft Descriptor” or “Transactions” portion of your statement.”

On step 3, it should indicate that the price is in the currency that corresponds to the link. I tried the link you used a moment ago, and step 3 indicated a price of € 33.44 EUR.

2008-05-06 13:09:02

On step 3 of the payment process you will be shown 2 check boxes. One will say “I wish to pay in (Currency Name).” and the other check box will say “I wish to pay in US Dollars.”. You must select that you wish to pay in the currency and not that you wish to pay in US Dollars.

The free account is only available to vendors who signup for the account and select to pay in a currency other then USD. If you signed up and paid in USD you will want to contact us directly and we will assist you.

I am running into a problem on Step 3. Chose AUD as currency coming in, then chose MasterCard and when I get to step 3 to enter my card info and click continue/next, the page comes up again, with card areas blank, no errors or anything.

I am using FF2, not sure if that’s the cause, but shouldn’t be.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Went back to the first card, since it wasn’t even giving me an error and now it too gives me authorization failed. This makes no sense to me. Both cards are tied to accounts with plenty of funds, I use them both every single day.

Could this be because I am trying to pay in AUD instead of USD?

I have just signed up using Eur link, so far has no problem and just got the account. Thanks.

But I wonder how some members above like maxxbyte could verify that his card was charged in USD although he has clicked Eur link because I could not see my card statement right now and there is no charge confirmation through my email. Hope there is no problem with my card statement. But how to be sure that my card will be written in 33 Eur right now cause usually card company does not allow until next 2 days?

Does it matter if the verification process takes a few days?
I mean sometimes you need two or three days before receiving your CC statement.

You can validate the account whenever you receive your credit card statement. It does not matter if this takes you a few days or a few weeks. The account validation code from your credit card statement must be entered before payments are released to you.

Unfortunately, this promotion has closed, but since this promo was so successful, we’re seriously considering several other promotional ideas. All promotions will be announced here, in the community. It’s just one of many reasons we hope all of our vendors stop by and read the news in the community on a regular basis.
