Wow! Are affiliates fun, or what? Last week, we hosted our first 2Checkout affiliate marketing roundtable and it was an incredible success. Many thanks to all the panelists who traveled far and wide to our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio for a fun and informative discussion. The panelists were very knowledgeable and willing to share their industry “know how” with us. For this, we are very appreciative. Special thanks go out to our seven affiliate and e-commerce rock stars:
- Rodrigo Alhadeff: CEO of Comersus Open Technologies, producers of the popular Comersus Shopping Cart.
- Blagica Bottigliero: President of the online marketing consulting firm Bsolutions, LLC and founder of condoperks.com and galsguide.com.
- Justin Chelf: CEO of websitementors.com, a creative interactive agency specializing in website development and internet marketing.
- Ian Larsen: Founder of ianlarsen.com, a private consulting firm specializing in affiliate marketing, social media, email marketing and other internet based e-commerce businesses.
- Tricia Meyer: Owner of popular niche websites helpingmomsconnect.com and sunshinerewards.com.
- Austin Rude: Owner and operator of a number of niche websites including airportdata.info, technobound.com, casper-wyoming-real-estate.com, and ppcpanther.com.
- Paul Wallerich: Vice-President of Marketing Development at provell.com, a leading membership services company.
This group of experts provided open commentary on a number of affiliate issues including product management, product search, tracking, reporting and analytics, recruitment, merchant management, and marketing. Thankfully, they were not shy in expressing emphatic and non-negotiable concern for access to a number of services including an easy-to-use affiliate interface, deep product searching, accessible affiliate managers, and reliable payments. We listened attentively and fell for every word.
We can only hope the group took the following 2CO Affiliate benefits from our session and spread it like wildfire with their friends in the affiliate community:
- 2Checkout’s product network is vast and deep-rooted, including a number of successful, untapped international vendors for affiliates to market.
- 2Checkout will manage ALL payments for affiliates and their sub-affiliates ALL the time, enabling affiliates to spend more time on their yachts or speeding up and down Highway 101 in their Ferraris.
- 2Checkout will charge no network commission fee, remaining solely focused on our core business of reselling products for 5.5% and .45 cents per sale.
In short, 2Checkout’s Affiliate program equals more products to market, more free time, and more money for affiliates and merchants to share! Hats off to our resourceful panelists! See you all next week at Affiliate Summit East!

I would be interested to see what suggestions the panelists made that 2Checkout is intending on implementing as improvements tothe affiliate program that is already in place.
The one item mentioned that I feel is important and needs to improved upon is an easy-to-use affiliate interface.
But before that gets 2Checkout’s full attention I think that everyone would benefit if the affiliate program had a spot on the home page with more visibility and clarity on where to go to sign up with improvements made to the instructions on how to set it all up.
Another suggestion I had made in another post was to remove some of the required fields in the registration process. Not all persons interested in signing up as an affiliate own a company, website, or have a custoemr service phone number.
I feel that if my above suggestions can be corrected then 2Checkout’s affiliate program will become much more user friendly and benefit all parties involved including suppliers.
Te only other suggestion that I would like to mention is the inclusion of html code or instructions on how to embed links in email messages. This will broaden the scope and ease of marketing products for all affiliates whether they are technically savvy or not.
Thank You,
Synergy

I’d like to see an affiliate program where we can make 1% or more on all transactions processed by those who we refer.
When that happens I can get excited.

That, obviously, goes beyond our current design, but there are ongoing discussions about the possibility of offering residual payments like this in the future.

Hi there,
I have read a few posts on 2CO Affiliate Program.
I am totally confused how my affiliates will promote my product and earn commission. I mean…Some people I know who can promote my product, don’t have a website.
You need to have a program where affiliates could simply direct visitors to the salespage where the product is being sold, instead of directly selling the product.
This way your program will become way too effective and more and more people will be able to sign-up.
I think I read somewhere that 2CO doesn’t do that because 2CO wants to know where the sales is coming from.
Well, the purpose of Affiliate program is to bring traffic without putting in much effort. It’s just like article marketing where you bring visitors to your site through the link in your article or resource box. Affiliate program is also a way of brining traffic to your website.
I simply can’t have my friends promote my product and earn a decent commission because they don’t own a website. Even if they do own a website, how will they sell without a benefit-oriented copy.
Just my 2 cents.
Thank you.
