Selling Recurring Products With 2Checkout

2Checkout provides you with the ability to offer recurring products. In addition, you can combine our Instant Notification Service (INS) with your recurring products to further automate your system.

What Is A Recurring Product?

A recurring product will form a sale that will automatically bill your customer at a specified interval. These types of products are typically used for such items as web hosting, membership services or ‘Item of the Month’ type products.

How do I cancel or Refund a Recurring Sale?

To issue a partial or full refund on a recurring sale, you will need to logon to your Account Homepage, click on ‘To find a Sale Search’ under the ‘Helpful Links’ menu, and search for the sale by the sale number. To refund the entire sale, click on ‘Refund Sale’ on the top left of the sales details page.

To issue refunds for individual installments, you will need to click on the ‘Refund $XX.XX’ link under the action menu. There will be an invoice entry for every installment.To stop the recurring billing on a recurring order, you will need to logon to your Account Homepage, click on ‘Find Sale’ under the ‘Helpful Links’ menu, and search for the sale by the sale number. Clicking on the ‘Stop All Recurring’ button near the top of the sales details page will discontinue the billing cycle.

Can you tell me how I can charge buyer a setup fee and delay the recurring billing until a later date?

This is not a feature we offer. The buyer will either need to sign up when payment should start, or you can refund the installment, or part of it, until so.

How do I update or change my credit card information?

If your current credit card is going to expire, or you have canceled your credit card, it will be necessary for you to wait and receive a notice from us informing you that your credit card is failing to bill. Once you receive this notification, a link will be included. You may click on the link to update your credit card information. Your order will not be canceled and you will receive a reminder notice every 7 days.

If you are requesting to update your credit card information to a different card, it will be necessary for you to contact us directly at 1-877-294-0273, so that we may obtain further information from you.

Can recurring products be edited?

Recurring products may be edited, but this will NOT effect current recurring orders for those products. Editing a recurring product will only effect orders placed for that product after the changes have been saved.

Can I do recurring charges without adding my products to the database?

We regret that this is not a feature we can support at this time. We do not foresee being able to support this setup anytime in the near future for legal and security reasons. In order to use recurring billing, we must ask you to add your products to our database.
