<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Product page in the new Vendors Administration Area(VA) features an Advanced View that will allow suppliers to select what product fields are displayed on the Product page, as well as the ability to edit multiple fields for multiple products at the same time on the Product page.</p>
<p><span id="more-744"></span><strong>Advanced View</strong></p>
<p>By default, the Product page in your account will display the following fields:</p>
<ul>
<li>Actions</li>
<li>Images</li>
<li>Assigned_product_id</li>
<li>Vendor_product_id</li>
<li>Name Price</li>
</ul>
<p>Suppliers may select the fields that are displayed on the Products page by enabling Advanced View on their Product page. After you have logged in to your account, click the Product tab on your account homepage. On the Product page, place a check in the Advanced View box on the right side of the Products page and click the blue Update View button. The page will refresh and there will be a new Fields list below the Advance View box on the right side of the page.  You may then place a check in the View box next to any additional field(s) you wish to have displayed on the Product page. You can also remove the checkmark from any default field that you don&#8217;t wish to view on the Product page. After you have completed your selections, click the blue Update View button to see the changes applied to your Product page.</p>
<p><strong>Enable Editing</strong></p>
<p>The Advanced View will also allow you to edit product fields from the Products page. To enable editing you will leave a check in the Advanced View box, place a check in the Enable Editing field and then click the blue Update View button. The page will refresh and there will be a new fields list that will allow you to select Edit, View or Skip for the product fields on the right side of the page. You will first want to place a check in the Edit box for any product fields that you will editing, then place a check in either the View or Skip box for any fields that you won&#8217;t be editing, or don&#8217;t wish to view, and click the blue Update View button below the fields list. The page will then refresh and any fields that you had checked Edit for will now be able to be edited on the Product page. Please note, if you don&#8217;t place a check in Edit, View or Skip for a field, that field will not be displayed on the Product page after you click the Update View button. After you have edited the field(s) for the product(s) that required the change, click the blue Save Product Changes button listed on the left side of the page under your products list. The page will then refresh and an &#8220;All updates succeeded&#8221;  message will be displayed in the top left side of the page.</p>

<p><span id="more-725"></span>After you have logged in to your account, click the Products tab.</p>
<p>To create a new product click the Create sub tab on your Products page. You will then enter the product information for the product you are creating.</p>
<p><strong>Name*</strong>: This is the name that you use to refer to the product or service that you are creating.</p>
<p><strong>Your Product ID*</strong>: This will be an identifier that you use to identify the product for your records.</p>
<p><strong>Short Description:</strong> A short description of the product. This will be displayed to the customer on the order details page after the customer is redirected to 2Checkout to complete their transaction.</p>
<p><strong>Long Description:</strong> This will be a more detailed description of your product. This field is primarily used for products that are included in the Affiliate program.</p>
<p><strong>Product Price*: </strong>The price of the product.</p>
<p><strong>Product Tangible*</strong>: This designates whether this is a physical product. The product will be physically delivered to the customer, place a check in Yes. If the product is delivered electronically, place a check in No.</p>
<p><strong>Product Weight:</strong> This field will only be displayed if the product is tangible. If you will be charging shipping fees based on order weight you will need to enter the weight of the product.</p>
<p><strong>Product Handling:</strong> This field will also only be displayed if the product is tangible. If you will be charging a handling fee for the product it will be entered in this field.</p>
<p><strong>Product Recurrence: </strong>If the product will automatically re-bill the customer place a check in Yes. If the product is a one time billing select No.</p>
<p><strong>Product Startup Fee: </strong>This field will only be displayed if Yes is selected under Recurring. If you will be charging a start up fee for the product or service you may enter it in this field. If a startup fee is entered, that fee will only be applied to the first installment on the order. Subsequent billings will bill at the price entered for the product. As an example: If you want to charge the customer $100.00 dollars for the first installment and then $75.00 on all future installments, you would enter &#8216;75.00&#8242; as the price and &#8216;25.00&#8242; as the Startup Fee. If you wish to provide customers with a discounted price as a trial period and then bill them the full amount for future billings you would be able to enter a negative startup fee for the product. As an example: If your service normally bills at $19.99 a month and you wanted to allow customers a trial period price of $1.00 for the first month, you would enter the Price as &#8216;19.99&#8242; and the Startup Fee as &#8216;-18.99&#8242;. In this example, the customer will be billed $1.00 for the first month and then $19.99 each month thereafter.</p>
<p><strong>Product Recurrence*:</strong> This field will only be displayed if Yes is selected under Recurring. This is a two part field on the product creation page. The first field, labeled Bill Every, is a numerical field that tells us how long between billings as a number. The second field, with drop down menu, tells us the unit of time measurement, weeks, months or years. If you want the product to bill every month you will enter &#8216;1&#8242; in the first box and then select &#8216;Month&#8217; from the drop down menu.</p>
<p><strong>Product Duration*:</strong> This field will only be displayed if Yes is selected under Recurring. This is a two part field on the product creation page. The first field is a numerical field that will tell us how many installments you wish to bill for the product. The second box tells us what unit of time you are referring to. If you put in ‘6’ and then selected ‘months’ from the second drop down, your charge would automatically cease billing after 6 months. If you want to bill the customer until they or you cancel, leave the first box blank and select ‘Forever’ from the second box.</p>
<p><strong>Product Category, Affiliate Commission:</strong> These fields will only be used if you are adding products to the Affiliate program.</p>
<p><strong>Product Pending URL: </strong>The Pending URL field is no longer used and may be left blank as 2Checkout no longer accepts e-checks as a payment method.</p>
<p><strong>Product Approved URL: </strong>This would be a page on your site that you wish to have customers  returned to upon completion of orders paid via Credit Card or with the PayPal payment option.</p>
<p><strong>Images: </strong>Feature will allow you to upload and attach images for your product that can be displayed on your <a href="http://www.2checkout.com/community/blog/knowledge-base/suppliers/tech-support/basic-integration/how-can-i-send-my-website-visitors-to-a-single-page-that-displays-all-of-my-products/">order page</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Please note: *=</strong><strong> </strong>Required Field</p>
<p>After you have filled in all of the required fields on the Product Creation page, click the &#8216;Save Changes&#8217; button at the bottom of the page.</p>
<p>If you have created product options they will be listed on the right side of the product creation/edit product page. You may add an option, or options, to the product after you have created it by placing a check mark in the box next to the name of the option(s) you wish to add and then click the &#8216;Save Changes&#8221; button at the bottom of the page.</p>
<p>You may wish to review the following related articles for more information on our Affiliate program, the return options available to you, uploading and attaching images, and creating product options.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of our suppliers have asked if they can customize their Plug and Play purchase links. This article will demonstrate an easy way to do so.</p>
<p>Below is an example of part of an HTML Snippet we may provide. This snippet can be found in the &#8216;Set Up Products&#8217; section of your account by clicking the &#8216;HTML&#8217; link for the appropriate product:</p>
<blockquote><p><code>&lt;a href="https://www.2checkout.com/checkout/purchase?sid=11&amp;quantity=1&amp;product_id=4"&gt; PRODUCT NAME &lt;/a&gt;<br />
</code></p></blockquote>
<p>Once a supplier has copy and pasted this auto-generated code into their site, it will appear like this to a web browser:</p>
<blockquote><p><a href="https://www.2checkout.com/checkout/purchase?sid=11&amp;quantity=1&amp;product_id=4"> PRODUCT NAME </a></p></blockquote>
<p>Using the auto-generated code as a starting point, we can simply remove the link text and replace it with the HTML code for an image:</p>
<blockquote><p><code>&lt;a href="https://www.2checkout.com/</code><code>checkout</code><code>/purchase?sid=11&amp;quantity=1&amp;product_id=4"&gt;&lt;img src="<em>XXXXXX</em>" alt="PRODUCT NAME"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;</code></p></blockquote>
<p><em>Please make sure that you replace &#8220;XXXXXX&#8221; with a link to the desired purchase image hosted on your site, &#8220;PRODUCT NAME&#8221; with your actual product name or other appropriate text and &#8220;11&#8243; with your own 2CO supplier ID.</em></p>
<div><a href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php" onclick="window.open('http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?pub=&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.2checkout.com%2Fcommunity%2Fblog%2Fnewest%2Fcustom-purchase-links&amp;title=Custom+Purchase+Links', 'addthis', 'scrollbars=yes,menubar=no,width=620,height=520,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,location=no,status=no'); return false;" title="Bookmark using any bookmark manager!" target="_blank"><img src="https://secure.addthis.com/button1-bm.gif" width="125" height="16" border="0" /></a></div>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Vendors who use our <a href="http://www.2checkout.com/community/blog/knowledge-base/tech-support/3rd-party-carts/parameter-sets/does-your-system-have-its-own-parameters-if-so-what-are-they/">3rd party cart parameters</a> often wish for the product details to be displayed on our 2Checkout.com order page. By default, when using this parameter set, only the value of the cart_order_id parameter and the total of the sale are displayed on this page. Did you know it was possible for you to create the products in your vendor account, reference them with a few parameters, and still pass 2Checkout an arbitrary total value? The process is quite simple. We will start from the beginning and you are welcome to follow along by placing your Supplier ID number as the value for the sid parameter in our example links.</p>
<p><span id="more-346"></span>Let’s say that you are using the following link to sell your products or services to your customers:</p>
<pre><code>https://www.2checkout.com/</code><code>checkout</code><code>/purchase?sid=XXXXXXX&amp;total=20.00&amp;cart_order_id=1234ABCD </code></pre>
<p>When this link is processed, the value 1234ABCD is listed as the &#8220;Purchase Item&#8221; on our Order Details page. For our example, we are a vendor selling widgets at variable prices. Because of the variable price, you are not able to use our plug and play parameters, which require a set price for a product. If we want the customer to be able to see which widget they are purchasing but still offer the variable price we can do this. First, we need to create the widgets in our vendor account products area. To do this log into your account and click on link #4, &#8220;Set Up Products&#8221;. Next click on &#8220;New Product&#8221; link located on the right hand side of the screen. We will now enter all the required fields to describe our widget. The first required field is &#8220;Your Product ID&#8221;. You will have the ability to reference this product using this value. For this example, let’s enter the value &#8220;W1?. The Name field will be displayed on the Order Details page so for this example let’s enter the value &#8220;Widget Block&#8221; in this field. When you get to the &#8220;Price&#8221; field don’t panic because it is required, the system will not read this value when placing a sale and this is not what the customer will be charged. What I recommend, to prevent customers from attempting to purchase from the built in <a href="http://www.2checkout.com/community/blog/knowledge-base/tech-support/basic-integration/how-can-i-send-my-website-visitors-to-a-single-page-that-displays-all-of-my-products/">2Checkout Order Page</a> is to set this value to a high value as opposed to a low value such as 1.00. Let’s enter 1000.00 in this field for our example. The next required field is &#8220;Tangible&#8221;. If your product can be shipped then you will select YES and if your product is not something that is shipped you will select NO. Choosing either one will not affect the sales process at all in this example. Because our widgets will be shipped let’s choose YES. Now click the &#8220;Create Product&#8221; button to complete our widget.</p>
<p>Now that we have our product created, we can edit our purchase link to reference the product. This is done by using the parameters, id_type and c_prod, which are part of our <a href="http://www.2checkout.com/community/blog/knowledge-base/tech-support/3rd-party-carts/parameter-sets/what-are-the-new-cart-purchase-parameters/">New Cart Purchase Parameters</a>. Id_type can hold a value of 1 if you wish to reference your product from the &#8220;Your Vendor ID&#8221; value which you entered when you created your product or a value of 2 if you wish to reference the product based on the &#8220;Product ID&#8221; which is assigned to your product by the 2Checkout system. Because the assigned product ID could be any number depending on your specific account, we will set the id_type parameter to the value of 1. Now that we have decided to use the &#8220;Your Product ID&#8221; value, we need to reference the product in our link using the c_prod parameter with the &#8220;Your Product ID&#8221; value, W1, as the value of the parameter. Adding these 2 parameters will cause our link to look like the following:</p>
<pre><code>https://www.2checkout.com/</code><code>checkout</code><code>/purchase?sid=XXXXXXX&amp;total=20.00&amp;cart_order_id=1234ABCD&amp;id_type=1&amp;c_prod=W1</code></pre>
<p>When you process this link in your web browser you will see the &#8220;Purchase Item&#8221; of &#8220;1234ABCD&#8221; and Total of 20.00 just as we saw before. Below this information, we now see a section showing our Widget’s Product Name and a quantity, which defaults to 1. We have successfully displayed what product our customer purchased without actually using the product and price that was set in the 2Checkout account.</p>
<p>It is also very easy to add the quantity of the product purchased so the customer can see this as well. All you need to do is place a comma after your c_prod value and list the quantity value. For example if we sold 3 Widget Blocks to our customer, our link would look like the following:</p>
<pre><code>https://www.2checkout.com/</code><code>checkout</code><code>/purchase?sid=XXXXXXX&amp;total=20.00&amp;cart_order_id=1234ABCD&amp;id_type=1&amp;c_prod=W1,3</code></pre>
<p>You can also use this method to list more then one product on the Order Details page. Let’s say we had created a Widget Cube in our account that we gave a ID of W2. The customer then purchases 2 of these widgets in addition to 3 Widget Blocks. Our link would now look like this:</p>
<pre><code>https://www.2checkout.com/</code><code>checkout</code><code>/purchase?sid=XXXXXXX&amp;total=20.00&amp;cart_order_id=1234ABCD&amp;id_type=1&amp;c_prod_1=W1,3&amp;c_prod_2=W2,2</code></pre>
<p>With closer inspection, you will see some changes in the parameters that we passed. If you pass in more then one c_prod parameter, you must place a underscore and then a digit after c_prod so our parameters are now c_prod_1 and c_prod_2. It is also important to point out that while we have 2 c_prod parameters we still are only required to pass in 1 id_type parameter. This parameter is applied to each c_prod value passed into the system.</p>
<p>After reading this article, you should be able to display product information to your customers on the 2Checkout Order Details page even if you are not using our Plug and Play Cart parameters.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you need to add a large number of products to your account, you may want to use the &#8220;Upload New Products&#8221; option that can be found on the Set Up Products page. Here are some guidelines for creating a properly formatted CSV file that can be used for this.</p>
<p><span id="more-347"></span>The most important thing to remember is the number of fields used per-line in the CSV: 13. Each field is separated with a comma and there must be no more or less then the expected number (again, 13) per line. Product names and descriptions are common offenders to this rule, as they sometimes include extra commas. These commas should be removed or changed to another character prior to the file being uploaded.</p>
<p>The first line of the file is a special line and should only contain the vendor ID number of the account the products will be uploaded to. This number should not be followed or prefixed with commas or any other information.</p>
<p>The other lines will contain your product information to be uploaded. Here is a list of the fields that will need entered for each product and the maximum length in characters that can be used:</p>
<ul>
<li>Product ID</li>
<li>Name</li>
<li>Inventory</li>
<li>Price</li>
<li>Weight</li>
<li>Handling Charge</li>
<li>Tangible</li>
<li>Description</li>
<li>Start Up Fee</li>
<li>Pending URL</li>
<li>Approved URL</li>
<li>Recurrence</li>
<li>Duration</li>
</ul>
<p>Product ID:<br />
The ID that you use to identify your product. 64 char max.</p>
<p>Name:<br />
The name to be used for your product. 128 char max.</p>
<p>Inventory:<br />
This field is not currently used by the 2Checkout system and may be set to any non-negative number, including zero, or left blank. 9 char max.</p>
<p>Price:<br />
This should be a positive number representing the price of your product in the currency used by your 2Checkout account. No currency symbol should be used in the field itself. Valid examples are &#8216;100&#8242; and &#8216;100.00&#8242;. 8 digits max(including decimal point).</p>
<p>Weight:<br />
The weight, if any, of your product. This field is used to calculate a shipping charge using your weight-based shipping methods. Only numbers should be used in this field. 4 char max.</p>
<p>Handling Charge:<br />
An optional handling charge to be added on a per-product basis. Follows the same rules as &#8220;Price&#8221;. 4 char max.</p>
<p>Tangible:<br />
Whether this product is a physical item (ie. clothing) or intangible (ie. software or services). Represented with a &#8216;1&#8242; for tangible or &#8216;0&#8242; for intangible. 1 char max.</p>
<p>Description:<br />
A short description of your product that will display on your Order Page or when the item is added to a shopping cart. It&#8217;s easy to add an unintentional comma in this field, so check your descriptions. 255 char max.</p>
<p>Start Up Fee:<br />
This is an additional fee to be used for recurring services. This must be a non-negative number, although it can be changed to a negative value after upload to represent a discount on the first billing cycle. 4 char max.</p>
<p>Pending URL:<br />
The Pending URL field is no longer used and may be left blank as 2Checkout no longer accepts e-checks as a payment method.</p>
<p>Approved URL:<br />
The URL to return customers to after a successful order. This must be a full URL starting with &#8220;http://&#8221;. Can be left blank to use the URL specified in your account&#8217;s Look &amp; Feel section. 128 char max.</p>
<p>Recurrence:<br />
For recurring products; specifies the length between billing cycles (how often to charge a customer). Entries should contain a number followed by &#8216;Day&#8217;, &#8216;Week&#8217;, &#8216;Month&#8217; or &#8216;Year&#8217;. Examples: 1 Day (once a day); 1 Month (once a month); 4 Year (four times a year). There must be a space between the number and the word. Also, the word must start with a capital letter (see examples above). 32 char max.</p>
<p>Duration:<br />
For recurring products; specifies how long to continue billing a customer. This should be formatted in the same method as &#8220;Recurrence&#8221; but can alternatively be set to &#8216;Forever&#8217; to continue billing until cancelled. Keep in mind that, while &#8216;4 Year&#8217; in the recurrence field means &#8220;bill four times per year&#8221;, in the duration field this means &#8220;continue billing for four years&#8221;. 32 char max.</p>
<p>Below you will find the first three lines of a working CSV file. The first line, as described above, contains a vendor number (sometimes called a seller ID). The first product is a simple tangible product that costs $1.00. The second product is a recurring intangible product that will bill for $10.00 every month for two years, with a $15.00 start up fee for the first month. Custom approved and pending URLs have also been set for this product. The last product is a tangible product that costs $100.00, weighs 10 pounds and has a $5.00 handling charge.</p>
