All the questions I have about the affiliate program…

… that I could think of at the moment.

I see that “Commissions will be paid to the Affiliates no sooner than sixty (60) days after the funds are received by 2CO.”. Can this be changed to a longer period of time? I currently offer a 60 day money back guarantee that might get upped to 70 or 90 and don’t want the affiliate to get the commission before this time is up.

Is it possible to offer different commission levels? Ideally, I’d like to be able to have at least 2 different commission levels so I can offer one to the general public with a lower commission.

How much control do I have over my affiliates? Can I see which affiliates (usernames) are selling what? Can I ban individuals who I feel are spamming my link, or causing me a high level of chargebacks, etc?

How does the affiliate system actually work? Do my affiliates give out links to http://www.mystore.com/?affid=joebob and I am responsible for passing their ID along with the order, or do they give out links directly to 2co? I am really hoping for the former.

Thanks for answering my questions and for adding the affiliate category!

At this time we have no concrete plans to change the time frames. Other requests for longer time frames have also been recieved, and we are forwarding all these to the appropriate department for consideration.

Future versions of our affiliate system will have more options for commission levels. At this time only 1 commission rate is available to suppliers.

Future versions of this program also have plans for more control over who is selling your product. At this time all 2Checkout affiliates can promote and sell your product.

Affiliates will be able to access the HTML code for your products from 2Checkout.com and that code will link directly to our purchase pages. Affiliates will also have the ability to simply add the “aff_id” parameter to the form that is passed to 2Checkout if they wish.

This raises a question I have…

Are ONLY other 2 Checkout suppliers allowed to sell my product and collect commission, or can I put an affiliate link on my website for the general public, and if so, where is the information for this? Thanks.

For 2CO to be able to pay non-vendor affiliates, they must sign up for a free affiliate account.

Non-vendor affiliates can sign up here:
https://www.2checkout.com/va/signup/

You may post instructions on how to sign up, as well as the code snippet supplied for your product(s) once they are enrolled. You’ll want to make sure you’re clear about the need to include their own individual affliate number in the code.

I can’t understand one thing: In the affiliate signup form you asking for affiliate’s website URL. I hope it doesn’t mean that this affiliate allowed to promote vendor’s products using that affiliate website only? Is this correct?

Yes, affiliates are only allowed to pass orders into our purchase routine from the website that they registered on their affiliate account. If the affiliate wishes to make sales from another website they will have to open a separate free affiliate account.

ok. but what if affiliate don’t have a website?

I plan to implement affiliate tracking on my (vendor) website. They will sign up, select desired nickname, enter their 2CO account ID. Then I will provide my affiliate with a link like

http://vendorwebsite.com/?a=affnickhere

so affiliate will have to send visitors to that URL. When visitor comes to my website through that URL, he is getting tracked by my script and 2CO account ID of the affiliate with nickname ‘affnickhere’ will be added to the purchase routine on my website.

In this case affiliate don’t need to have a website. What website address they should enter then?

Currently I sell most of my products at ClickBank and over 30% of my affiliates don’t have a website or use some free hosting with third level domains like “somenickname.webhost.com” to create landing pages for PPC advertising.

Don’t you think that it is a good idea to make a “website” field in the affiliate signup form optional for affiliates?

The website field is not optional because 2Checkout needs to know where the affiliate sales are being passed in from. We have spoken to our risk department regarding your proposed setup and it may be possible but they would like to talk to you directly for more information. Please contact our risk department directly at risk@2co.com to discuss this affiliate setup.

Thank you very much craig. I will write that script, set up a new product at 2CO and contact your risk department when everything is ready so they will see how everything actually works. Ok? I think this will take couple of days.
