April 15th, 2009, by: xkhostNew INS Field – can_ship
April 14th, 2009, by: craigbrasssystemsHello,
Can we get a new INS field titled can_ship to say if an order can be shipped or not yet. The options should be :-
- wait -> Means the order is a check and is waiting clearing OR it is waiting on its fraud check.
- yes -> Means the order can be shipped. Sent once check clears or fraud check is successful.
- fail -> Means the check bounced / failed OR fraud check failed.
This would make coding our response checker MUCH easier as we would just be able to use one field. Currently we need to check the type of payment, then use either invoice_status or fraud_status depending on the type of payment.

Default Currency?
April 13th, 2009, by: putt4parWhen customers go to 2CO to pay, they enter their credit card information and attempt to submit payment. Often times, the payment page will simply refresh without sending their payment through.
We’ve dealt with supporting this issue a number of times and have figured out that it’s because they need to click the US Flag at the top of the page in order to set their currency.
This is quite annoying to deal with the same support issue over and over (not to mention losing customers over it!)… nothing on the 2CO page makes it obvious that this is the problem — one would expect an error message of some sort telling the user why their payment wasn’t processed.
1) Can 2CO provide some sort of feedback to the customer?
2) Can we set a default currency for payments so the click isn’t even required by our customers?
Does 2checkout has an API?
April 13th, 2009, by: priyankaDo you’ll have an API that we can use so that our system can automatically find out information about a sale id?
2Checkout Policies Questions
April 12th, 2009, by: rskingAfter looking at the acceptable and prohibited products and services, I am still not sure my own small business is acceptable. So I offer a brief description here in hopes that someone can confirm one way or the other.
I run a small publishing house (poetry and reviews of poetry). We sell our annual magazine as well as books online. Books and magazine sales would seem to be okay for 2Checkout. However, we also conduct a yearly book competition which offers a $1000 prize to the winner, plus publication. We charge a $20 reading fee for each manuscript submitted and in return give at least one of our books to each entrant. The sole purpose of the reading fee is to help defray printing and advertising costs.
We planned to use PayPal, but such contests violate PayPal’s overly restrictive policies. Thus, we wish to find a reseller/payment gateway that would allow this annual book competition. Is this kind of thing acceptable here, or should we bark up another tree?
Forced extra purchase steps with securesuite.net?
April 9th, 2009, by: gesmanHello – while making test purchase through my account I was forced to some sort of securesuite.net window to complete extra steps to create account with them and enter my security information.
Here is URL:
https://www.securesuite.net/rbc/tdsecure/opt_in.jsp
This almost smelled like phishing – asked to enter date of birth + CVV to complete purchase. After I did it – it failed my transaction and I wasn’t even able to use another card.
Could you please explain why is this happening?
Is it possible to avoid this?
I thought Paypal was bad when it used to force to create accounts – but this thing will easy cost us half of customers.

Help Desk Software
April 8th, 2009, by: readydeskOriginating IP address for INS verification
April 8th, 2009, by: gesmanDoes 2CO have a list of static IP’s that I could check in my script via $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] variable to verify that INS notification is actually coming from 2CO?
md5 verification is inconvenient for users of my membership site software as it complicates setups for them.
