If the deposit is made and you still do not receive the product, we will work with you and the supplier to find what happened to the shipped product. We may also refund your money if the product is not as described on the website or you do not receive the product.

We offer 24 hour customer care to address any specific questions you may have about your order. You can reach us at:

So, if I understand that correctly, if I purchase that laptop and it does not arrive / arrives but it is not as described within 6 weeks You will give me full refund?

Thank You for your answers.

Because the merchandise is being purchased from 2Checkout.com, we have the ability to issue a refund for various reasons. If a tangible product is involved, we will issue a refund upon the supplier receiving the merchandise back.

As far as ”Charge back” ability, this is up to the card bank that issued your card. Normally a card holder would only contact their card bank to have a charge back issued when the merchant is not willing to correct the issue.

If you have specific questions regarding an order that you have placed, please contact us 24 hours a day/7 days a week by phone:

How do you know when they ship the computers? How do you know that they arrive? How do you know that the packages ain’t empty?

Also, shouldn’t a company using your service have a valid ToS? The one on their site is copied word for word from apple store.
The wording ”Pricing, specifications, availability and terms of offers may change without notice. Taxes, fees, shipping and handling and any applicable restocking charges are extra, and vary.” that they have on their page are stolen directly from dell.com. Even that they write this on the page, they answer on their won forum that VAT for EU is included. Isn’t that missinformation? Do your system handle different VAT’s from different countries in this case?

I’ll also post this here, thanks for the help whoever translated it:

* So, it’s not strange that this ”company” that’s supposed to
revolutionize the market only exists as a £1 company on an anonymous
address in the UK?
* Isn’t it strange that MK and Infocare didn’t know about the company
in the beginning because everything happened to quickly?
* Isn’t it strange that their homepage says taxes/VAT aren’t included
whereas he says it’s includd on the forum?
* Isn’t it strange that they’re supposed to maintain a zero balance
and even make a profit, when they get 800 SEK per computer, including
free shipping?
* Isn’t it strange that try to hide their troubles in the past on
their homepage, that every company they have been either
de-registered, liquidated (Translation?) or have been filed for
bankruptcy, while they claim that everything have been 100%
successful?
* Isn’t it strange that they write on their homepage that they plants
in Brazil, and then deny it?
* Isn’t it strange that there is no proof whatsoever that these
computers really do exist?
* Isn’t it strange that the shipping time is up to 8 weeks?
* Isn’t it strange that their ”partners” who ”advertised” on their
homepage have asked them to remove their banners because they had
never heard of the company?
* Isn’t it strange that they have stolen a _completely irrelevant_
Terms of Use & Privacy Policy from Apple, that they’re using on their
homepage.
* Isn’t it strange that they’ve felt the need not to provide any form
telephone contact information?
* Isn’t it strange that Valdi doesn’t think doesn’t feel the need to
pay employment tax and other taxes?
* Isn’t it strange that the person behind this doesn’t have either an
income or capital?
* Isn’t it strange that they’re advertising Window Live Messenger,
when their computers are running Linux?
* Isn’t it strange that all this is happening during the vacation,
when it’s hard to verify information?
* Isn’t it strange that Asus, one of the world’s largest laptop
manufacturers, are proud about building a $200 computer with far worse
specs than this one, which was in the news about a month ago?
* If each and every one of those points is strange on its own, doesn’t
all of this add up to a whole lot of strangeness?

”How do you know when they ship the computers? How do you know that they arrive? How do you know that the packages ain’t empty?”

The short answer: Because our verifications process involves calling customers.

Thanks for you confirmation that the customers won’t be affected on this fraud and that it won’t succsess. I feel too bad for you though that has to stand in the middle of this and make all paypacks and so on, must be quite time consuming and coting loads of extra cash that you won’t get back?

And how about the other questions?

Hello Thenisse,

2Checkout is the company that is selling this product. We purchase the laptops from Medison and resell them over the internet in real time. (When you click on the purchase link, we buy it from Medison at the same time that you buy it from us.) This allows us to protect the customer in ways that credit card processors and other ways to sell products on the internet can not– even if the company who created the product goes out of business or is not even legitimate, the customer purchased the product from us, and we can refund the money if there is a problem with the order. And yes, if the laptops are not sent or are not as described, we are prepared to refund all money that was spent by the customers.

As the seller, it is 2Checkout, not the customer, who stands to lose if Medison is not a legitimate company. We have done extensive checking into their legitimacy and will continue to do so. The money is not deposited from the customer’s credit card until the product is shipped. Medison will not be paid until we know for a fact that the laptops are being received by customers and are as described. These are safeguards that we offer all customers no matter what product they purchase, but we will redouble our efforts in this case because of the significant amount of orders in such a short amount of time.

As far as the tax questions go, because we are the seller of the products, the taxes are calculated as a purchase from the US. As a service to our suppliers, we currently pay all applicable sales taxes, and they are included in the price.

I have personally purchased products that take 4-6 weeks to ship, and will again if it is a product that I want and the price is right. $150 USD for a laptop? I’m more than willing to wait two months for such a good price.

Other than that, I’m sorry to say that I can’t answer each and every question that you have. However, I can answer the big question: Should those who buy the laptop from us feel safe in that purchase? I can honestly say yes. We will take care of our customers and ensure that they receive the products that they purchase from us. If they do not, we will be happy to return their money.

Julie

Don’t you feel troubled over that your partner uses a stolen ToS from Apple?

thenisse: If Medison’s accountants have instructed them to collect and remit VAT regardless of 2Checkout’s involvement then I would expect them to do so.

Legal documents are extremely expensive to develop. They are only rarely protected by copyright regulations — the entire legal system is essentially based upon precedent. We’re currently developing our own amendments to 2Checkout’s TOS in regard to our affiliate program. In order to save money we’ll read and analyze a number of contracts utilized by other affiliate networking companies before using our own legal counsel to finalize the documentation.

That said: We’re scrutinizing this relationship very closely (see front page of blog) because we obviously have a great deal of excitement AND as well as trepidation. This is a great example of why it is a good thing 2Checkout is part of the process: Our verification and risk management processes will ensure that the consumer is protected and that we minimize the potential for damage to our company’s reputation and financial status.

Anyone remember The Million Dollar Homepage?

Its worth the wait, I’m willing to trust 2C0 on this deal. 2C0 has a solid reputation. I live in Michigan, 2C0 is in Columbus, Ohio, close enough for me to get to.
All my sources state that 2C0 is honorable, they stand by their word, and they will refund my money if the product is not as advertised let alone not delivered.

I have NO problem believing that a decent laptop can be marketed for $150.00, there are millions of new over stocked processors, mother boards, RAM etc out there, and these devices have been grossly overprice BLOATED for so long we have been blinded into thinking we all HAVE to pay the 1000%+ markup.

Even if the components are surplus, as long as they are new(never used), this thing will be treat.

Reponding to aforementioned post by ’thenisse’:
”*Isn’t it strange that Asus, one of the world’s largest laptop manufacturers, are proud about building a $200 computer with far worse specs than this one, which was in the news about a month ago?”

The ASUS Eee 701 priced at $199.(http://www.allasus.com/CATALOG/index.php?cPath=1_76&osCsid=5057deca5fb6b963443cd5e725f04a90 laptop proposed for $200.00 is NOT far worse, it is in fact BETTER, the ASUS 7” and 10” widescreen, flash-memory Internet PC with VoIP and other great features it has a flash hardrive, which is much more expensive (the Samsung Q1 Ultra UMPC with a Flash costs $1000. more than the model with a traditional hard drive!

The ASUS Eee 701 has been reviewed hands on, it boots us in 5 seconds, run programs very fast, I plan to buy one of the ASUS too as soon as they are available with the 10” widescreen option.

Sharper / 2CO staff,

You stated yesterday in this forum that no laptops have been shipped.

Posts have surfaced today in various web forums that customers have received shipping notifications with a zeroed-out tracking number and a vague, nonsensical shipping method called ”Scandinavia”.

Can you please confirm if these shipping notices are real?

Which shipping company is used?

Why is the tracking number not correct?

Is it possible to get an answer on if any orders has been marked as shipped or not? Just sound a bit strange to me since you earlier said:
”We’ve been really supportive and responsive to many questions but, at the end of the process, customers who ordered and have not already canceled will receive one of two communications from 2CO:

a). We’re canceling your order, or;
b). Your order is ready to be shipped — please reauthorize this sale.

THAT is what it all boils down to. ”

A shipping confirmation without any tracking number doesn’t match any of those alternatives.

Hello, and thank you all for your posts.

The Medison Celebrity is a product that 2Checkout would like to see come to fruition. We believe that this kind of product would be very helpful to the under developed would as well as the world in general.

Some orders have been marked as shipped, but no tracking information has been received and therefore we cannot tell you if they have in fact been shipped.

Again, anytime any of the customers would like to cancel their order or request a refund, they may do so at any time.

In regards to the orders that have been marked shipped. These are electronic funds and no interest can be gained by 2checkout, on the contrary, 2Checkout has to pay a fee to refund these orders. No funds have been released to Medison.

2Checkout has not broken any laws as a merchant regarding this matter. No funds have been taken from any customer, accept in the case that the order was marked shipped.

Any customer may request a refund or a cancellation via phone or submitting a ticket at any time, unless they have received their order.

As always, I thank you all for being a part of these forums.

So in your own words customers HAVE had funds taken even tho 2Checkout cannot tell us if a actual product has been shipped or not.

Geno”No funds have been released to Medison.”
So 2Checkout must have the funds.

Geno, there are alot of other questions in these forums on the topic of Medison Celebrity. You have not answered any of them. Posting that you cannot tell us if they have in fact been shipped is a huge cop out. How about you optain that information. Since it is your job to do so and get back to us.

For The Of Attention 2CO:-

Whether the product at this price is good for the under developed World is not the issue here, the issue is whether the product is REAL or NONE EXISTANT in other words a SCAM! or FRAUD!

2CO Wrote “We are the seller of the products, the taxes are calculated as a purchase from the US. As a service to our suppliers, we currently pay all applicable sales taxes, and they are included in the price.”

2CO Wrote “We purchase the laptops from Medison and resell them over the internet in real time. (When you click on the purchase link, we buy it from Medison at the same time that you buy it from us.)”

“2Checkout has not broken any laws as a merchant regarding this matter. No funds have been taken from any customer, accept in the case that the order was marked shipped.”

As you claim that YOU are the seller, by law, the minute you actually receive payment for a product (monies deposited in your Bank Account) and the product does not exist you, 2CO are liable to lawsuits.and no judge would accept that a Company such as 2CO could be so nieve, considering all the infromation provided within these forums on 2CO during the last few weeks

Orders marked as shipped does not mean the product exists or indeed has been actually shipped, as you are the seller YOU ARE obliged by law to disclose to the purchasers the shipping costs if any and the shipping company used.

This was posted by GENO over a week ago “2Checkout is aware that sales are now being marked as shipped in Valdi’s account and will now start the verification process. As soon as we have verified that orders are being received I will revisit this post and issue an update”

Question: Have 2CO had any confirmation of verified delivery?

2CO Wrote: All customers who pre-ordered will have shipping costs identified via re-invoice and be asked to re-authorize the order. Free shipping may still apply to the Scandinavian orders to which it was originally intended.

Have any customers who have had their order marked as shipped received any re-invoice with the shipping costs?

Have you send any customers who have had their order marked as shipped any links in emails to re-authorize the order?

2CO Wrote: “We will require tracking information in this case. Due to the large number of orders we will undoubtedly permit an alternative method for supplying 2Checkout with that information in place on having to individually enter tracking information for each order.”

Question: What happened to the required tracking information of shipment from Medison?

Cibercore,

Good to hear from you.

All of the orders that have been marked shipped (120 of them)are located in Sweden, and Valdi has said that shipping for this area would be free. In this instant there would be no reason to re-invoice the customer.

We have not been able to verify that any customer has received their laptop at this time.

Customers understand that they can request a refund or cancel their order at any time. The customer will either get a laptop, or they will get their money back.

I thank you for your continued posts on this forum.

Valdi has severa time said that shipping is extra even to Sweden. This includes e-mails to customers, on their press conference, on ther forums and in interviews to the press. Isn’t giving customers untrutfull information also in breach of your ToS?

Geno, Thank you for your response, I don’t know the time limit 2CO put on for marking goods as undelivered, but I would expect this to be a reasonable period (i.e. Days NOT Weeks). I and many other customers would very much appreciate if you can post any information to this forum if you do receive any confirmation that goods have indeed been delivered.

2CO are you also aware that Valdi in the Swedish press tomorrow has stated the following:-

”Medison do have some computers ready to be shipped, but they won’t send them until a bigger part of the orders can be delivered, to silence critics that say that they only would deliver some computers and then run off with the money.”
