2checkout should have a feature where merchants can receive payments for items from their customers using sms. Some people don’t have credit cards but most have cellphones and you can already buy things from the internet using sms like ringtones, cellphone games etc.
For example of how it could work:
1- Person chooses item to buy
2- Person chooses sms(text message) as a payment option and enters their cellphone number.
3- A merchant’s 2checkout account generates a random unique number and sms’s this to the customer’s cellphone.
4-The customer sends an sms reply to 2checkout with the word “accept” and then their cellphone account will be billed.(if a person has a prepaid cellphone the funds will be deducted)
5-Then 2checkout sends another sms to the customer with a confirmation number and they enter this on the merchant’s website and the purchase will be finished.
This sms payment option should be available in all countries and it should work with all wireless carriers from any country.
Can you guys implement something like this?

Hi,
As I know how pay-by-SMS works, I can more or less can the idea, although it could be something to look into for other uses
Getting it to work with all wireless carriers from any country would be impossible due to the number of agreements 2CO would need to sign.
The percentage that the operator takes for this type of service is huge. After 2CO has taken its rightful cut, you’ll be left with … er, the price of a stick of chewing gum
Fraud control is also very very difficult.
