OMG, who design the ugly checkout page? And it is a recent redesign?

Who here is bothered by the look and usability of the checkout page?

The person who designed it needs to have their eyes examined.

Can’t he/she take the design cue from google checkout?

2checkout’s looks busy, unprofessional and is all over the place, and what is up overlapping left column to the main column?

Please, can someone please redesign it to a simple nice look. Just look at all those web2.0 interfaces, and stop trying too hard with columns or italics.

I am sure folks are losing sales because of the interface.

Technically, what you’re seeing now doesn’t constitute a redesign. We’re doing an ongoing series of A/B tests and the features currently on the checkout pages have been proven to increase conversions.

Ultimately, this testing will result in a clean, and more importantly, effective transaction process.

I apologize for the frustration though and admit they could look better. I am making recommendations to address your concerns.

If you are selling intangible products and do not require PayPal, you may want to consider using the Single Page Purchase for its cleaner look.

The single page purchase looks better, but wow, the 2CO logo is huge and the header takes up a lot of space. And the visa, mastercard, bbbonline, mcafee logo image is blurry.
The form spacing, alignment could be tighter, try these forms for some inspiration.

or even paypal.

But this single page is definitely better than the other one. Is this available for the recurring billing page?

Thanks for replying.

Yes, the single page purchase routine can be used with intangible recurring products and services.

Thanks. That’s good to know. But still, perhaps the flags and languages can be in a pull down menu for less clutter, cleaner look. Or give your customers the option to customize it a little.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there any chance of improvement anytime soon.

We are continuously making changes and testing new versions of the purchase routine to increase conversion rates and insure an effective transaction process.

I don’t mind 2CO testing pages for conversion, in the end higher conversion rates help all of us.

You should try the single page checkout:

I find it much more user friendly having all the required information on a single page rather than going through 4 pages to finish the checkout.

While I’m on it – one thing I would recommend testing on the single page checkout is removing the “Continue shopping” and “Update” buttons or at least making the “Checkout” button stand more out (different color making it stand out, maybe change the text to “Checkout now”, move the other two buttons on the left side of the form and leave the “Checkout” button on the right side etc.).
