We’ve had a few transactions go wrong (for example, money debited from customer’s card, without vendor notification of order) when customers try to use the PayPal option.
Having mostly corporate customers, we find the PayPal option on 2CO just a nuisance that is costing us business and reputation.
May I suggest an option in the Site Management area, to select which payment methods are allowed for customers.
In particular, there should be an option to disable PayPal. If we wanted to accept PayPal, we can sign up for free and pay less in commissions; but I’m sure everyone knows this already.

Thanks for your feedback.
I’ve moved this post to the Feature Requests category so we can better track it.

I agree with this person. PayPal has not proven 100% trustable to many merchants and corporate customers see it as a negative that PayPal is a payment option.
If we wanted to use PayPal we would already be using them and paying a lot less in fees.
They are a 3rd party payment gateway just like 2checkout. Why does 2checkout feel they need to use PayPal as a method of payment?
We chose 2checkout because of its reputation and fraud prevention services. PayPal has its own method of handling queries and chargebacks…which has nothing to do with communication with the vendor. They make decisions that affect our money without consulting us for information.
At least if you decide to keep PayPal there, give us the option to disable it as a method of payment.

Agreed. I’d like Paypal to be optional please.

I’d also like a way to disable the Paypal option. I’ve had at least two sales I was never notified about until the customer complained to 2Checkout and I had to take action.
I hate to have to make it up to my customers when it’s 2Checkout’s fault.

I wish I had searched for this before I created my 2checkout account. We have a cart system that is compatible with 2checkout as well as Paypal. We already have our own paypal option in our cart system. Now when we enabled 2checkout, doing a test order revealed that paypal is shown as an option to people who already saw it as an option in our cart, selected 2checkout, and now they see paypal option again. it is confusing to our customers, PLUS we do not want them to use paypal thru 2checkout when we have our own paypal merchant account already. All we wanted 2checkout for was to authorize credit cards, not provide yet another paypal option.
Count me as a merchant that wants to be able to disable all options except CREDIT CARD within 2checkout’s gateway.

I just wanted to followup on my post. Craig from 2checkout.com sent me a workable solution for my cart software.

This worked perfectly for me, now Paypal is not an option in the checkout process via 2checkout. Thank you for the assistance.
