After looking at the acceptable and prohibited products and services, I am still not sure my own small business is acceptable. So I offer a brief description here in hopes that someone can confirm one way or the other.
I run a small publishing house (poetry and reviews of poetry). We sell our annual magazine as well as books online. Books and magazine sales would seem to be okay for 2Checkout. However, we also conduct a yearly book competition which offers a $1000 prize to the winner, plus publication. We charge a $20 reading fee for each manuscript submitted and in return give at least one of our books to each entrant. The sole purpose of the reading fee is to help defray printing and advertising costs.
We planned to use PayPal, but such contests violate PayPal’s overly restrictive policies. Thus, we wish to find a reseller/payment gateway that would allow this annual book competition. Is this kind of thing acceptable here, or should we bark up another tree?

We would not be able to support this type of competition as we do not support any website were customers must pay or buy a product to enter a contest. This information can be found in our Prohibited Products List.
