2CO Recurring Payments Shopping Cart

Hi,

I’ve been searching for weeks for the best combination of eCommerce shopping carts & payment gateways to use for my upcoming online store and I finally chose 2CO as my payment gateway.

I’m going to offer subscriptions, where people subscribe and receive certain info on periodical basis, hence the need for recurring payments.

I found out that 2CO does support recurring payments.. but i am stuck now as I can’t find a suitable - open source or commercial - shopping cart that supports the recurring payments options or INS..!! I’ve researched more than 75 shopping carts so far but still not sure which one supports 2CO recurring payments!!

What I wish to do, is to have my website configured with any shopping cart that supports subscriptions & recurring payments, like AspDotNetStoreFront, Ubercart, etc so I can have it display all the sales information of my subscription products sold through 2CO.. is that possible?

Please recommend shopping carts - open source or commercial- that would work with your recurring billing features? or INS!

I’m really stuck here with my online store plan and I need your help, thank u :)

Regards,

Robbie

Any shopping cart that supports our plug and play parameter set such as Membership Client Pro and aMember Pro will be able to pass recurring sales into our purchase routine. However, at this point I do not know of any carts that currently support the Instant Notification Service. If any shopping cart developers have or are currently developing a module for a 2Checkout supported cart that will support the INS please let us know.

Please note that you are always able to use our plug and play cart to pass your recurring products into our purchase routine and use the 2Checkout reporting features to keep track of your recurring payments. We will also send you email notifications for all new sales, recurring installments, recurring declines, cancellations or refunds.

Thank you for your reply.

I just had a look this morning at your spotlight product Comersus ASP Cart - out of sheer hopelessness and though i was not interested in an old technology like ASP and nor did I like the shopping cart admin panel itself, i found this interesting sentence among the shopping cart’s payment features, which said: 2Checkout including Return Script

Does that mean it supports the Instant Notification Service?

No, the return script processes the sale parameters that are passed back to the approved url upon the completion of each sale. The approved url is the url that the customer is sent to upon completion of a sale. Most shopping carts will provide a return script as it is necessary to update the carts database.

Thank for your explanation, it was really helpful.

I’m so surprised that not many people are seeking answers for this issue! I mean don’t they want to have INS integrated with their shopping carts!! I feel it’s so critical and important to have that feature for anyone providing recurring payments!

I wonder Craig if 2CO have posted the INS documentation yet, maybe that’s what’s delaying other carts from implementing it?

Does anyone know of a shopping cart that has 2co’s INS as a feature??? Guys please let us know…

The INS documentation was initially posted online this past spring. If anyone on the community has developed a shopping cart module that supports the Instant Notification Service please let us know.

I’m not sure about a cart but we have been trying to use the INS with our affiliate program and subscription site but there is a problem with the INS as it doesn,t pass the right paramater back at the momment (always nul) its a known issue but as yet no fixes.

Maybe this is causing issues with developers developing modules or addons to their products.

If you can please advise which parameter you are receiving a null value for and the notification type we will be better able to research this issue.

Hi Ricks,

This was from our programer:
“I need just one optional parameter which can be passed to 2co system and then returned back with INS. In 2co documentation such parameter is . However after few live tests I realized that this parameter is not returned back.

If you know any other parameter I can use let me know? Of course it should work with recurring billing routine.”

Hope that helps

Thank you for the information. This is a known issue. Our developers have already been made aware of it and will work to resolve it. Unfortunately, I cannot provide an estimate on when the fix will roll out, yet.

Thank you all for your comments.

Can you recommend some shopping carts which support 2CO recurring payments?

I decided that I don’t need INS for now… just a shopping cart with support for recurring payments by 2CO.

I checked out MCP4 - membership client pro - and though they support 2CO recurring payments, their cart is a bit limited.

Thanks in advance :)

We are unable to make specific recommendations on shopping carts. However, there may be other suppliers that can make recommendations for carts that are able to support recurring orders and integrate with 2Checkout.

If there are any suppliers that can recommend carts that support recurring services through 2Checkout.com it would be appreciated.

I just went through the recommended shopping carts list by 2CO and browsed them all site by site.. none of the decent ones is offering recurring orders except MCP4!

Am i unlucky or is it right that decent shopping carts that offer recurring orders - especially with 2CO - are limited???

The primary challenge here is that recurring products may only be used with the Plug and Play parameter set. Any 3rd party cart that supports the PNP parameter set would work, but most only support the other parameter sets.

We are currently considering some potential changes to the way recurring products work, but unfortunately this is too early in the process to say what changes, if any, would be made.

I’m going to go ahead and add this thread to the Feature Requests category, so we can keep track of your request.

Thank you for the kind words.

If any other suppliers have any input on third party cart’s that are feature rich and support recurring services please feel free to comment.
