41 came to 2Checkout - only 2 orders as a result

We have 41 click through from our shopping cart to our 2checkout account, out of 41 only 2 ended up as fulfilled orders.

I made an inquiry like this several times before, the only answer I have is that we need to check our own shopping cart. As far as I understand we bring the customer to the point when he/she should pay all right, then we loose them at 2Checkout, why is that our shopping cart problem? And is ther ANY chance to see When and Why those 39 people left without paying for the products chosen?

Has anyone else been experiencing such problem?

The goal of every sale organization — both brick and mortar and online — is to complete sales. If someone walks into a major retail organization or comes to your website you want them to buy — as much as possible! — and not leave empty handed.

I welcome the opportunity to work with you on analyzing this problem in your particular instance. Did you capture IPs of the visitors? What are you selling? Is it a product that sees a lot of browsing and/or comparison shopping? Are you pricing it properly? Do you base transactions in US Dollars? Should you be/are you using the single page purchase routine?

I’m going to review your account and you can expect an email from me directly in regard to additional information we can use to assess the problem.

On the solution side, 2CO has partnered with the industry’s leading expert in “funnel” solutions. The concept of the funnel is to make sure as many customers as possible come in through the wide upper end and make it out of the narrower side. Completion ratios are typically very low across the product spectrum online and it is our goal to widen the mouth of the funnel through our purchase of the analytics and solution package to make certain that more customers complete the purchase process.

Expect both my email requesting information and a longer post soon.

Kristin,

Thank you for your prompt reply, I will provide IPs later today, as for the products - we sell software for PDAs, some browsing is involvedm we loose customers, however, not on OUR website, but AFTER they are transferred to your pages.

We base prices in US Dollars, and the routine is quite regular - after the customer presses BUY button, he/she gets into the page like this:

Your Shopping Cart
Product Name OS Quantity Price Total Remove
My Task List SP $6.99 $6.99
Total: $6.99

THEN he/she is taken to the page where he/she leaves the info re email, name, device id (for shareware products):

Billing Information
Product Name Quantity Price Total
My Task List SP 1 $6.99 $6.99
To charge: $6.99

To those willing to pay with PAYPAL:

Fill in your info here and proceed, you will be offered a Paypal option on next page
Billing Information:
* First Name
* Last Name
* Address Line 1
Address Line 2
* City
State/Province (US, Canada only):
* Postal Code
* Country
* Email
NOTE: Please check your spam filter to make sure the email from the developer was not blocked. Oftentimes, email accounts such as Hotmail, AOL, or Yahoo will block the emails and deliver them to a spam or junk folder.
* Phone

PAY RESET

SO WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS IN YOUR PAGES THEY DO NOT BROWSE MORE, they pressed PAY button and are transferred to @CHECKOUT.com, this where we lost them today.

As I said the IPs of the customers will follow.

I want to make sure I understand this correctly. Where are you seeing “@checkout” during this process?

Please do not post customer IPs to this public site. Only provide those via email or our support ticket system.

Thank you.

We also have some drop offs in 2CO. We use the new checkout option and had one customer that could not figure out that he had to enter spaces in his credit card number - it kept failing before.

It seems some more work needs to be done to make some things clear.

Spaces are not required when entering a credit card number. The new single page purchase checkout routine will allow spaces but they are not required.
