It was recently acknowledged and confirmed from 2checkout staff members that 2co merchants have NO PROTECTION WHATSOEVER against any chargeback’s stemmed from buyers you may have received a traditional PayPal payment from (into your 2checkout account). This issue immediately affects each and every 2checkout user, as the 2co system does not allow you to reject payments from third party payment providers such as PayPal.com.
As it currently stands, any individual with an active PayPal account can purchase goods from a 2checkout merchant through an active PayPal account, immediately claim that the service/goods were not received, and immediately receive 100% of his/her funds back. Again, this is a very serious matter that should be addressed immediately. Under the current 2checkout/PayPal Terms of Service there is nothing that can protect you from a PayPal buyers complaint (including documented tracking information or delivery confirmation).
Please refrain from accepting any payments until this issue is resolved.

I have checked into the sale in question and it looks like we are investigating this particular charge back. I understand why you are frustrated, but I assure you that it does neither of us any good when sales are charged back. Because of this we investigate and challenge what we can.

Chargebacks can be something that is hard to win but this does not mean that we have no protection. PayPal in most cases provide us more protection than a credit card sale. When a sale is placed though PayPal it goes under the PayPal buyer protection policy.
In order to challenge this dispute we have to adhere to these guidelines. When you receive notification of a dispute please respond as soon as possible so we can notify PayPal. We only have 20 days to dispute the chargeback.
Legaleagle I have located your order that was charged back I will be in contact with you.

What if we do not want the paypal option at all? We just signed up with 2checkout, and we already have our own paypal account setup in our cart system. When we did a test order using 2checkout, we saw the PAYPAL or CREDIT CARD options. We do not want the paypal option there, it is redundant and confusing to our customers. When I called the support center, they said they were not sure that paypal option can be disabled. I hope it can. Otherwise we may have to close our 2checkout account.

I was pointed to a workable solution for this problem by Craig.

I modified the checkout routine for 2checkout in my 3rd-party cart software and Paypal no longer is offered to my customers that have chosen 2checkout from our cart.
