I’m already with 2CO. A company I am involved with (based in Russia, like I am) needs an online payment solution.
I have recommended 2CO and they are happy to go along with this, however they apparently cannot pay the account setup fee using their company credit card as they would need some kind of paper receipt for tax purposes.
So my main question is:
a) Can 2CO provide a receipt by fax?
b) Can I use my card to pay on their behalf?
Also, are there any extra restrictions for a Russian company using the service?
They can have a US dollar or Euro account to accept payments – however I am a little confused by the transfer charges. Can you enlighten as to how much they would need to pay for USD versus EUR?

Hello bobs12,
Thank you for doing business with 2Checkout.com and we certainly appreciate your recommendation to your business associate.
I will be happy to address your questions:
A) If the 2Checkout.com’s $49 signup fee is paid with a company credit card that requires a receipt we can fax or email it to after payment has been made.
B) Your business associate should pay the $49 signup fee with his or her company credit card to avoid any potential issues concerning account ownership. 2Checkout.com would view the owner of the account as the person that pays the signup fee.
There are no extra restrictions for companies from the Russian Federation using our service beyond those outlined in our Prohibited Products List.

Regarding the fees for the wire transfer of funds to your account please allow me to clarify:
EURO is a supported currency, therefore, the fee to receive a wire transfer is $6.00 per transfer. However, if you decide to receive the wire transfer in US dollars the fee is $15.00 per transfer.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for clearing that up.
My main issue was whether the account would end up closed if I were to use my own card for it but the payments were to be sent to an account not in my name.
I want to avoid that situation mainly for the reason that the guys in this company don’t speak much English and I can see myself being roped in every time they want to ask a question. I suspect that is what they’re aiming for anyway
Credit cards and Russian SMEs seem to be an inexplicably incompatible mix, though it may be more to do with ridiculously convoluted tax and VAT laws than their lack of experience with cards.
I know I’ve brought up the PayPal issue a dozen times of late, but here’s a thought – Russia is ’forbidden territory’ for PayPal. So… surely you can justify turning the PayPal option off if a site is based in a PayPal forbidden territory, where express checkout shouldn’t work?
