Dear all,
I am setting up our 2CO plug and play solution.
We sell products that are either 1oz, 2oz or 4oz in weight. In order to be accepted by the 2CO shipping module I have changed these to lb’s for example where 4oz = 0.25lb’s.
When I enter 0.25 into the shipping surcharge module the total lb’s is 0. In other words it doesn’t looks as though decimals under 1 are accepted.
Is there a solution to this? Or am I entering this information into the wrong place?
Thanks for your advice.
Best,
Steve

Since the product weight is only used to calculate the shipping surcharge and never displayed in the purchase routine you can easily setup your shipping method by setting up your product weights at 1lb, 2lb or 4lb. The shipping wizard in our new sellers area (VA) allows you to set specific weight surcharges and an overweight surcharge that will continue to add a set amount for each pound over your weight surcharges. Please feel free to contact us directly for setup assistance with your accounts shipping methods.

Not sure what you mean and need some clarification.
Are you saying that weights will be added up and if they go over a specified weight this is what your Shipping module is for? This has nothing to do with the actual shipping cost of the individual product?
All we want to do is have the weight totaled and the shipping calculated from that i.e. if its 6oz or less then it would be $2.00, it its between 6.1oz and 13oz the shipping would be $4.00 and so on.
How do we do this? If say one of our customers orders 1 x 4oz product and 2 x 2oz products how do we get 2CO to add up the associated weight and display a shipping cost for it?
We tried to set up Zen Cart with 2CO and wasted months and didn’t get any solution for this and starting to loose the will to live with shipping, so we are now looking to get this resolved quickly.
Thanks for your help,
Steve

The shipping weight surcharge is calculated based on the total product weight and the surcharge associated with that weight. Since our shipping wizard requires that you setup your product weight in pounds all you have to do is assign a product weight to your products and a surcharge value for the weight. The value entered as the product weight is just a number used to calculate the surcharge, not the actual product weight. When setting up your shipping method you may choose to setup a surcharge for each weight value specifically or specify an overweight charge amount that will add a specific amount to the weight surcharge for every pound that is in the cart. Please contact us directly if their is any confusion so that we can ensure that your shipping method is operates as you need it to.

What this means is that 1lb doesn’t need to literally be 1lb. If your basic unit is ounces, you could use 1lb as a representation of 1oz, 4oz, etc. instead.
