I am trying to figure out what the benefits are of using 2checkout.com as compared to paypal – Other than the fact of having another gateway to accept credit cards.
2checkout charges a setup fee of $49
Paypal – no fee
2 checkout charges 5.5% of transaction plus .45 per Sale
Paypal- 2.9% of transaction fee plus .30 per transaction
I don’t know? Can someone help me out?

I’d love to see some of our suppliers respond here, but I’ll cover some of the basics.
First, it needs to be pointed out that 2Checkout and PayPal are not competitors. Our services compliment each other. 2CO even accepts PayPal as a payment option.
Some will prefer 2CO over PayPal or vice versa, depending on their needs, but many will use both.
Depending on nationality, some vendors can receive Foreign Currency Electronic Funds Transfers (FCEFT) at their local bank, in their own currency, when PayPal may require a U.S. bank account. Many international vendors who cannot acquire a PayPal account are able to sign up with 2CO. For some vendors, a 2CO account is their only access to customers who prefer to use their PayPal funds when making online purchases.
Some vendors, who could have both a 2CO and PayPal account, may decide to limit themselves to 2CO, because it allows them to accept PayPal orders without maintaining a separate account.
2CO’s fraud solution is generally considered more complete. For more information about the process, you may want to read Real Time vs Time Delayed Fraud Detection. PayPal-funded 2CO sales will go through both PayPal and 2CO’s fraud review process.
Another substantial benefit 2CO offers to both vendors and customers is the ability to contact us at any time. Our Customer Care department is always open and may be contacted by telephone or the support ticket system at any time. Just click on the “Help” tab above for all of our contact information.
2CO offers a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, so you can try the service out for yourself and see if it meets your needs.
If you have any questions please let us know.

Hi,
I use both 2CO and Paypal. I’m working a lot of my time in a country not included in Paypal. I have 2CO in that country and Paypal in my original country. I receive the checks from 2CO and make it cash here, but I can’t do that with the money accumulated in Paypal, so I use it to buy everything I need in Internet and to pay my affiliates. And because I’m an affiliate too, I need Paypal to receive my affiliate commisions.
And when 2CO started to accept Paypal orders I was very happy

Hi, If I sell a product/service using 2CO, what fees will be deducted?
Let’s say:
I sell My Product ($200 dollars),
and a buyer pays with Paypal…
My question is:
What are the “total” fees? 2CO transaction fee + Paypal transaction Fee ?
I _guess_ not, but I would love to be sure.
Thanks in advance,
BW

PayPal transaction fees are not applied on top of 2Checkout transaction fees. The transaction fees on sales made by the PayPal payment method will be the same as any other payment method offered from 2Checkout. (5.5% + $0.45 per transaction) The total transaction fees on a $200 sale would be $11.45.

If I already have PayPal can I not offer it along side 2co in my website shopping cart and remove it from the 2co checkout as an option? If someone wants to use PayPal and I already have an account I don’t see why I would want to pay the extra 2.6%

Yes, you would be able to offer PayPal as a payment method on your site. Customers would still be provided with PayPal as and option at checkout if they elect to purchase from 2Checkout.com.
We are unable to remove PayPal as a payment option at checkout.

Cliff pretty much covered it when it comes to my take on this.
2CO has the best customer service I’ve seen in a really long time. Call them at three in the morning, the person on the other end can solve your problem.
I also get quite a bit of feedback from my clients. What they tell me is that the 2CO system makes them feel more secure. Even when they do pay with paypal, it’s got a much more professional feel and they feel like they are doing business with a firm that has their act together. Paypal still has kind of a weird feeling for some clients and they just don’t trust it. But let them use the 2CO system and they feel much more secure.
Just my observations and 2 cents.
