Hey Mark, sorry to hear you’re having troubles getting your shopping cart to operate correctly with our system. I did visit your site and I tried to reproduce what you are experiencing, although I was unable to recreate the issue where you’re seeing the prices cut in half. Now, even though I am not able to see exactly what you’re witnessing, I’ll be happy to provide some information on what I have actually noticed.
The default currency that your shopping cart is set to use is British Pounds. However, the default currency of your 2Checkout account is set to US Dollars. If your intention is to sell your products primarily in British Pounds, then my suggestion is that you make your 2Checkout account default to British Pounds. Any amount that you send in using ’x_amount’ will be set into the default currency you select within your 2Checkout account. If your customers need to pay in another currency, they can select their desired currency from the conversion flags at the top of the purchase pages.
Also, within each page of your shopping cart on the right side-menu, you allow customers to specify the currency type in which the purchase currency should be (defaulting to British Pounds). I notice that when I convert my cart total to another currency, it appears that you are utilizing a service to convert this currency. Unfortunately, the total you will end up with and the total that 2Checkout’s system will display are going to be different. This is because 2Checkout is able to provide more competitive conversion rates due to the large volume of sales that we deal with on a daily basis. So, regardless of what your shopping cart software shows as the converted price, you will almost always end up with a different amount when 2Checkout performs its conversions.
One final idea is clearing out your cache and cookies. Make sure you do this after each of your purchase tests. Session information is stored during each individual purchase (whether it be a test or live), so it is very possible that information from an old session was being used while you were performing your tests.
I hope that this has given you a bit more insight from where the issue may be coming. However, please correspond with us through the ticket you’ve submitted in our ticketing system to continue troubleshooting this issue so we can find a solution for you.
