When customers go to 2CO to pay, they enter their credit card information and attempt to submit payment. Often times, the payment page will simply refresh without sending their payment through.

We’ve dealt with supporting this issue a number of times and have figured out that it’s because they need to click the US Flag at the top of the page in order to set their currency.

This is quite annoying to deal with the same support issue over and over (not to mention losing customers over it!)… nothing on the 2CO page makes it obvious that this is the problem — one would expect an error message of some sort telling the user why their payment wasn’t processed.

1) Can 2CO provide some sort of feedback to the customer?

2) Can we set a default currency for payments so the click isn’t even required by our customers?

I am constantly getting emails like this from my customers.

I have conflicting prices on two separate emails regarding confirmation of order. 2checkout.com (order number 393988####) has a final price of $477.16 whereas rhdjapan admin (order number:RHD13349) has a final price of $468.46. I am a little confused of this could you please clarify.

From what i can see the total that the customer was charged is more than my website said it was when he left my website to make payment on 2co website.

It seems that 2co is automatically changing the currency of the user based on ip address then tacking on fees for converting to usd.

There is a trust from the customer that the final price on my website is the final price he will pay. The customer’s IP address changes the currency but the customer still believes that he will be charged the USD rate from my site. He is not aware that 2co is going to make money off him by giving a currency rate that will be more than the price on my site.

This breaks trust between my customer and my company and it leaves me as a customer of 2co unhappy.

I need to be able to specify the currency that the 2co payment page is in. At that time if the customer chooses to change the currency based on where he is that is fine.

I have set up a shop using oscommerce, and am using 2checkout for the payment processor. I am selling a book all over the world (hopefully). In oscommerce I have set different prices for different currencies. Eg:

For a New zealander to buy my book it is NZ $32.00.
For a US person, it is always $25.00 US dollars.

Is there a way to send the currency and price through to 2checkout from osCommerce?

At present, it always defaults to NZ dollars.

Would it be too hard to provide an API to get 2CO’s current exchange rates?

Then we could offer prices on our sites in the visitor’s local currency…

Or even simpler, the option to specify the currency in the payment link, such that the amount is shown in that currency, and not as a calculation from the default currency?

The matter is that in testing my site, a good number of people have complained that they get to the 2CO page and don’t spot the currency flags up at the top, and when it says ‘go back and change’ they don’t realise there is a “back” button at the bottom of the form. They hit their browser back button instead, and get a ‘page expired’ notice, and write to me telling me the site is broken…
