We have received reports of this error and our developers are working to track down the cause. This error is being returned by the customers Credit Card security program, such as Verified by Visa. It appears to be an issue for customers using cards issued in Spain. If your customer has another card I recommend that they try placing the order with that other card. If that is not successful they may wish to choose another payment method if at all possible.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we don’t have an update yet. Our developers are still working on this issue.

Hello,

I have a business in the UK with customers in Spain.

The first Spanish customer to try this has also encountered this very same error as off today. This is the first time it has been tried on this system and has failed.

I then decided to try and pretend to be a customer and used my own card details which is a MasterCard issued here in the UK. My card also caused the same error.

This points to the fact that it may not be Spanish card related. I am however, using the parameter that drives the checkout into Spanish. The currency is set to Euros.

I need to know ASAP whether this is going to be resolved and when. Failing this, I will have to leave 2Checkout which would be a shame because it shows great promise. Currently I am using Paypal pro but they do not do recurring billing and I have not been that pleased with the service.

I look forwards to a prompt reply.

Many thanks

Tony Gomez

Simba,

Looks like email notification is not working and I have just seen this post. I take it back what I said in the ticket about response.

However, this issue is not a Spanish related issue as I have also used my own UK issued credit card which has also thrown exactly the same error.

From the trouble ticket, I understand 2CO believe it is an international banking issue. Well I do not accept that answer and it is more likely that you have a problem at your end. And it is based on your conclusion that gives me no confidence.

Why don’t I agree with your answer?

1 Because I use my card frequently on the Internet with no problems at all.

2. The Spanish customer’s card has been used with Paypal Successfully.

3. Under no circumstance should your server throw an error like the one in question. If there is an issue with the banking system as you say, then the system should be far more user friendly than to throw a technical error.

4. After nearly one week, you are no nearer to solving the problem. In fact you are suggesting it is a banking issue and nothing to do with you. If this is what you think, then it will never be solved.

My biggest concern is you are unable to give me a timescale and without that I can not operate. I now have to go back to the website and revert to the original supplier which is paypal pro.

It is real shame.

Tony
