Hi
I want to set up goals in Google Analytics, I’ve tried a few things and I’m not getting useful data, it’s like 2CO strips out all the information Google needs.
I’m reduced to doing a regex match for ’checkout’ as a goal.
There’s a ”thanks” page for completed purchases, but the traffic to that page appears to come from either secure.barclaycard.co.uk/referral or securesuite.co.uk/referral .. whereas what I really need to know is whether sales are coming from ads or organic search or whatever.
Anyone know how I can do this or is it part of the ’2CO momentarily buys from us then sells it on’ thing. It’s a showstopper for me, I have to be able to see where my sales are coming from.
Cheers
J

J,
I only have a rudimentary knowledge of Google Analytics, so cannot say how setting up goals would work exactly. I do know that GA requires you to add a line of Javascript to every page you want tracked. You cannot add code to the 2CO transaction pages, so this may limit that functionality. You may be able to address these issues with your return script. Unfortunately, I cannot provide more specific information.
The following articles provide more information about the return process:
