Hi
Since the end of October I’ve had 42 people go to the 2CO checkout but I don’t think I’ve seen one come out the other side. I test it and it works, though.
How can I debug this? Are there any reporting tools?
Also, what percentages are you seeing in your application? We price in £ and maybe half our visitors are from outside the UK, so perhaps people are clicking to find out the price in their currency.
I’m using a javascript onclick to tell Google Analytics that someone’s clicked to ’buy’.
All help appreciated.
Cheers
J

J,
First, if I have the correct account for you, you’ll want to contact us directly (click the ”Help” tab above), because there may be a problem with your account.
Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any supplier-accessible analytics.
Frequently, customers will initiate a transaction to get an idea of the total price including options, shipping, currency variations, etc. Depending on the functionality of your site, you may encounter a little or a lot of that kind of behavior.
We’re currently collecting a lot of usage data for our transaction pages, so we can determine the most effective features, layout, etc. and make the appropriate changes based on that data. Your site will still be a factor in how your site visitors respond, of course.

Cliff can you send me a list of the most effective features, layouts as you suggested?

bphilp, I think he meant THEIR layout and features, not your website. The effectiveness is something you have to measure on your website. I would recommend reading for example this article which covers effective website design:
http://psychology.wichita.edu/optimalweb/default.htm
Also if you have a Google AdWords account they have a free tool called ”Website optimizer” which lets you test different layouts on your website to see which one works best for you.

Yes, I was referring to our transaction pages.
